En cela, elle tresse un trajet biographique et un trajet épistémologique. Notre point d’entrée est celui de la poïétique, c’est-à-dire l’étude des conduites créatrices des œuvres, en l’occurrence sur une sélection de projets issus de notre parcours. En adoptant l’hospitalité comme concept philosophique d’espoir, nous interrogeons la puissance d’instauration de l’art et du design dans le mouvement continu de redéfinition d’une institution soumise à l’effritement de son programme institutionnel historique et aux conditions normatives du new public management. L’hôpital incarne de tout temps cette ambivalence du terme : hostilité et hospitalité. Nous ne prétendons pas dans ce travail décliner les bonnes pratiques contributives à l’hospitalité dans les lieux de soins mais nous aspirons à saisir ce qui se joue dans cette dialectique et comment la création devient une puissance d’instauration de l’hospitalité elle-même. This thesis is the fruit of 20 years of experience directing artistic and design projects in a hospital environment employing reflexive thinking within a deep theoretical context. Using this method,a trajectory both biographical and epistemological is followed. Our point of entry is the use of poetics, that is, following the pathways taken to create artistic works, in this case a selection of projects issuing from the artists’own journey. By using « hospitality » as a philosophical concept representing hope, we interrogate the power of art and design in a continuous quest to redefine how an institution can function given the pressures imposed by the now normalized conditions imposed by public management. The hospital has always represented the ambivalence of the terms: hostility and hospitality. In this endeavor, we do not refute the positive side of hospitality in these healing environments but intend to reveal what takes place within this dialectic and how creation can be a powerful force for establishing a condition of real hospitality.
