<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Le but de cette thèse est la détermination d’un champ de vitesse GNSS actuel de l’Afrique afin de caractériser sa cinématique et ses déformations actives. Différents modèles cinématiques, sismotectoniques ont montré que la plaque Afrique était subdivisée en deux grandes plaques Nubie et Somalie. La densification des données GNSS sur le Rift Est Africain et les blocs tectoniques orientaux connexes a en outre permis de séparer la plaque somalienne de 3 autres sous-plaques. Aujourd’hui, la densification des données géodésiques sur la plaque Nubie a permis de la subdiviser en 4 blocs tectoniques majeurs. Les cœurs de ces blocs sont respectivement formés des trois cratons principaux archéens et un méta-craton qui sont séparés les uns des autres par de ceintures orogéniques néo-protérozoïques et des monts-sous-marins. Le long de ces ceintures se sont formées des zones de cisaillement, des failles actives et du volcanisme actif constituant des lignes de déformation continues (LDC). Le long de LDC, les régimes déformation prédits par la géodésie sont cohérent avec les caractéristiques sismotectoniques de ces régions.</dcterms:abstract>
<dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">The aim of this thesis is the determination of a current GNSS velocity field of Africa in order to characterize its kinematics and its active deformations. Different kinematic and seismotectonic models have shown that the Africa plate was subdivided into two large Nubia and Somalia plates. The densification of GNSS data on the East African Rift and related eastern tectonic blocks has further helped to separate the Somali plate from 3 other sub-plates. Today, the densification of geodetic data on the Nubia plate has made it possible to subdivide it into 4 major tectonic blocks. The cores of these blocks are respectively formed by the three main Archean cratons and a meta-craton which are separated from each other by Neo-Proterozoic orogenic belts and seamounts. Along these belts have formed shear zones, active faults and active volcanism constituting continuous lines of deformation (LDCs). Along LDC, the deformation regimes predicted by geodesy are consistent with the seismotectonic characteristics of these regions.</dcterms:abstract>
